Airing is defined as commercial release, commissioned by a client, for television, theater, the Internet, mobile phone, or any other medium/screen able to deliver motion picture imagery.
There is no limit on running time, and work may have "aired" on any screen. It is recommended that if entering a lengthy piece, that a cut-down is submitted for judging purposes.
AICP reserves the right to request a cut down of a winning piece for screening purposes. The full piece in its entirety will be included in the film archives of the Museum of Modern Art, and will appear on the AICP Awards Website. In the case of lengthy work that consisted of a case study or cut down, the AICP Show Curatorial Committee will determine what is screened for exhibition purposes.
The exception to the airing requirement is the Student Commercial category, which must have been produced during the eligibility period and cannot have aired.
- Work entered in the AICP Next Awards categories may have been produced or aired anywhere in the world.
- In order to be entered into Advertising Excellence/International Category, work must be produced by a production company outside of the U.S. for an agency whose office is located outside of the U.S. Work in a language other than English must be subtitled in English or alternatively must be accompanied by an English translation.
- International work is eligible for entry in the craft categories (Animation, Visual Effects, Editorial, Design, Original Music, Sound Design, Musical Arrangement) if the craft was done at a company office located in the U.S. - e.g. the music for an international spot was composed by a New York-based music company.
A detailed invoice showing you a list of your entries and fees will be emailed to you as soon as you finalize your entries. This is your receipt and record of entries.
Please send one check payable in US dollars, for the total amount of the entry fees. Entry fees may be paid online by credit card, and will be assessed a 3.25% processing fee. For international entrants wishing to pay via wire transfer, please write firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
Checks should be made payable to the AICP Show and sent along with a copy of your invoice to:
3 West 18th St., 5th floor
New York, NY 10011
Telephone: (212) 929-3000
Entries in the Student Commercial category will be accepted without an entry fee. No late entries for the Student Category will be accepted after the deadline of March 3rd, 2017. No exceptions.
Entries will not be accepted after the deadlines without confirmation from AICP. To request an extension, click here
Late entries are assessed a $75 processing fee per entry (after the late fee is applied, a late single entry will be $320 and a late campaign entry will be $570). Late fees are not waived. No exceptions.
Entry fees are non-refundable. AICP is not responsible for incorrect or incomplete entries.
The jury will consist of members of the AICP, advertising professionals and crafts experts. Jury members are prohibited from voting on their own work. Individual juries will be assembled for each category.
A Curatorial Committee is assembled to review the judging results, and at its discretion may limit or eliminate recognition of any category in which entries are not consistent with the standards of quality that the Show requires. Up to two top choices in each category will be included in the AICP Show, with the exception of the Advertising Excellence/Single and Advertising Excellence/Campaign categories, which have only one honoree.
Notification of Finalists
The finalists selected for the Show will be notified of their status, and will be required to upload the entry in a high resolution format to the AICP site. Only the person identified as the entrant will be contacted with the results. The official AICP Awards Shortlist of finalists is announced to the public on April 21, 2017
Following the June premieres, entrants whose work is chosen for exhibition in the AICP Show and AICP Next Awards will receive certificates announcing their place in the film archives of The Museum of Modern Art.
